FCC Construcción participates in the XII National Congress on Environmental Impact Assessment (CONEIA 2024)
FCC Construcción has participated in the XII National Congress on Environmental Impact Assessment, whose objective is to reinforce the idea that the Environmental Impact Assessment helps to guarantee sustainability in the social, environmental and economic spheres.
Antonio Burgueño, FCC Construcción's Sustainability Manager, presented the R&D&I project "SOSTEVAL-TEC": Research and development of an integral system for the improvement and evaluation of sustainability in the different phases of civil works. He has also counted with the collaboration of Jaime Moreno Juez, PhD in Materials and Process Engineering of TECNALIA and Jerónimo van Schendel Erice, CEO of the company BILDIA, and as moderator of the presentation has collaborated Rosa Arce Ruiz Professor of the ETSI Caminos, Canales y Puertos of the UPM. and director of the Center for Transport Research (TRANSYT).
The aim of the presentation was to highlight the relevance of sustainability assessment throughout the life cycle of civil works, in order to ensure and improve the social, environmental, economic and governance impacts related to the different stages of the life of a work. The session was structured in 3 sections:
- FCC Construcción's vision on sustainability assessment and the importance for the construction sector of this type of solutions to improve the sustainability of civil works. Definition of the SOSTEVAL-TEC Methodology.
- Innovative solutions for sustainability assessment of the entire life cycle of civil works: Presentation of the project "SOSTEVAL - RESEARCH OF ADVANCED SOLUTIONS FOR AN INTELLIGENT AUTOMATED SYSTEM FOR THE ASSESSMENT AND IMPROVEMENT OF SUSTAINABILITY THROUGHOUT THE LIFE CYCLE OF CIVIL WORKS".
- Advanced digital technologies for sustainability monitoring, analysis and assessment. SOSTEVAL-TEC digital platform.
