FCC Construcción participates in the Brazil-Spain forum on international investment

FCC Construcción participated in the Brazil-Spain forum on international investment as part of the bilateral meeting between the two countries that took place during the first half of 2026.

Recently, the Port of Açu in Brazil, built by FCC Construcción, won an award in the Innovation category at the Cais Açu Lab Awards. The Port of Açu is located 315 kilometres north of Rio de Janeiro. It is the third largest port in the world and the largest deep-water outer port in the Americas, with a total planned capacity of 350 million tonnes per year.

It was a complex civil engineering project, as evidenced by its magnitude. The project consisted of the construction of a 2,438-metre-long caisson quay, which was carried out by manufacturing and anchoring 49 reinforced concrete caissons, and a 600-metre-long sloping breakwater. The large caissons have an average length of 45 metres, a beam of 24 metres and struts between 18 and 29 metres.
