FCC Construcción participates in the conference “Sustainable Finance and the 2030 Agenda: investing in transformation”
FCC Construcción, through its CFO Maria Carrasco, has participated in the conference organized by the United Nations Global Compact, in the online event Sustainable Finance and the 2030 Agenda: investing in the transformation of the world.
Sustainable finance is in a time of expansion and the 2030 Agenda has become the main framework that guides investors working in this field. This event will also review the fundamental role of the director of finance or CFO in the environment of sustainable finance and his contribution to the 2030 Agenda.
The objective of this paper has been to make visible the importance of sustainable finance in order to meet the challenges of the 2030 Agenda, as well as to highlight the actions that Spanish companies and entities are carrying out in this area. The document also delves into the latest developments related to sustainable finance, including aspects such as the European taxonomy and innovative products such as sustainable bonds.
Maria Carrasco has valued the role of FCC Construcción within the United Nations Sustainable Finance group. “We were the first construction company in the world to join this important collaboration group. In turn, we were the only and first Spanish company to join this group”. In addition, she has added "companies that are not aware of incorporating the sustainability value into their financial taxonomy will find that their financial transactions will be more expensive and less competitive".
