FCC Construcción participates in the largest railway infrastructure event: Innotrans 2024
FCC Construcción has taken part in the world's biggest railway infrastructure event, Innotrans 2024, which in its tenth edition has set a new record for participation since its first edition in 1996. In 2024, this professional event was attended by 2,940 exhibitors from 59 countries who presented the latest mobility solutions. The 3,500-metre outdoor track area hosted a display of 133 vehicles.
During the fair, visitors were able to get to know details of the 226 world innovations that were presented and which were structured in five segments: Railway Technology, Railway Infrastructure, Public Transport, Interiors and Tunnel Construction. Key innovations ranged from a fuel cell-powered locomotive, to AI-based algorithms for timetabling and barrier-free access to trains, to anti-painting coating for glass surfaces.
On Europe's Rail Joint Undertaking stand, the European Rail Research Advisory Council (ERRAC) platform presented the ‘Rail Research and Innovation Agenda’ (RRIA). It is a document that sets out the priorities, challenges and opportunities for the future of European rail transport. This plan focuses on the digitisation, sustainability and resilience of the railway system to make this mode of transport a key pillar for multimodal, inclusive and carbon-neutral mobility.
FCC Construcción was able to present its experience in railway infrastructure with more than 2,600 kilometres of railway, both infrastructure and superstructure, in any of the modes of this means of transport, from high-speed rail to the metro or the new trams, including the maintenance and renovation of existing lines and the construction of new stations as terminals in large cities.
More than 900 kilometres of high-speed rail built, more than 326 kilometres of metro and 65 km of tramway. More than 11,000 kilometres of rail track maintenance.
The company's purpose is to bring people together, connect cities and reduce distances.
