FCC Construcción present at the Spain-Peru business meeting organized by ICEX-CEOE
FCC Construcción was present at the Spain-Peru business meeting, organized by ICEX and CEOE, held on February 28. The business meeting brought together the main Spanish companies, as well as the main authorities of the Peru government.
The opening speech of the act was developed by the President of the Republic of Peru, which started two business panels, chaired by the Minister of Economics and Finance of Peru and by the Minister of Transport and Communications. In turn, they were accompanied by President of the Central Bank of Peru and president of Proinversión.
The objective of this meeting was to identify business opportunities in Peru through greater knowledge of the destination market and investment opportunities and business cooperation in the sectors called. Peru is one of the economies that has experienced the greatest expansion in the Latin American region in the last two decades, with an annual average GDP growth of 6%. It is also one of the Latin American markets with the best performance of the CPI in the last decade, with an average annual variation of 3% and a level of public debt of 25%, one of the lowest in Latin America.
Traditionally it is a net exporter, having registered in 2017 surplus for the second consecutive year. In addition, the country offers a legal framework favorable to foreign investment: non-discriminatory treatment between foreign and domestic investors, unrestricted access to most economic sectors, free movement of capital, free competition and guarantee of private property.
FCC Construcción in Peru
FCC Construcción has developed and develops key projects in Peru. He has executed the modernization of El Callao port, the most important in the country and one of the largest in the Pacific in South America. Thanks to the developed project, it has been possible to reach the capacity of one million containers per year in the north dock.
Currently, FCC Construcción executes strategic projects for the country: line 2 and line 4 of the Lima metro, as well as the expansion of the international airport "Jorge Chávez".
