FCC Construcción presents a technical article on the reinforcement of the structure of the overpass of the Cuesta de San Vicente with adhered carbon fibers, within the reform project of Plaza España (Madrid)

FCC Construcción has presented a technical article, in Orion magazine, on the reinforcement of the structure of the overpass of the Cuesta de San Vicente with adhered carbon fibers, within the reform project of Plaza España (Madrid). The article written by Cristina Cabezas, head of the Civil Works Structures department of the Technical Services Department of the Construction area of the FCC Group, aims to technically explain the reinforcement of the structure of the overpass using adhered carbon fibers.

pursue a fundamental objective which is the progressive vacating of public space by the car so as to obtain the improvement of the conditions for pedestrian movements, reducing the asphalt surface and increasing the sidewalks and roads and all the exclusive spaces for people or non-motorized vehicles. Within this framework, two of the main actions of the works are the extension of the Tunnel from Calle Bailen to Calle Ferraz, eliminating vehicle traffic over the Cuesta de San Vicente overpass and the conditioning of the latter for the new defined uses on its surface.
