FCC Construcción presents its Best Practice in Compliance to the United Nations
FCC Construcción has presented its Best Practice, “From compliance policies to a board-led integrity system”, to the United Nations. It sets out how the company has transformed regulatory compliance into a risk-based model within the construction sector.
FCC Construcción has been a pioneer in ethical compliance; as early as 2010, it published its first Code of Ethics and Conduct, transforming the internal perception of compliance from viewing it as a cost and an administrative burden to seeing it as a strategic factor that fosters trust, reputation and access to global markets.
In the words of FCC Construcción’s Compliance Officer, “We believe that, within an organisation, employees tend to behave as their leaders do. If managers, directors, board members and the chief executive act ethically, the rest of the employees will follow their lead.”
Since 2005, FCC Construcción has participated in various United Nations initiatives, including the Business and Human Rights Accelerator; the CFO Coalition for the SDGs; WEPs Signatories; UN Global Compact & UNODC COSP Private Sector Platform 2025–2027; and the Think Lab on Business Integrity 2024–2025. These initiatives highlight the value of the company’s projects.
