FCC Construcción presents the Leopoldo Calvo-Sotelo award for Public Leadership at the Caminos Foundation Awards 2021
FCC Construcción, through Jose A Madrazo, Director of Spain, Portugal and the industrial area, has awarded the Leopoldo Calvo-Sotelo prize for Public Leadership, honorary mention to Jaime Lamo de Espinosa and Michels de Champourcin, for their contribution to the development of public works and the projection of Civil Engineering in the Associations of the sector.
This award category pays tribute to the former President of the Spanish Government, for his constructive and brilliant contribution in the public sector and the excellence achieved in the private sphere. Fundación Caminos distinguishes the professional work of those outstanding figures and institutions in the public sector that have influenced economic and social development and the modernization of the State and its operating structures.
The Caminos Foundation, in collaboration with the College of Civil Engineers, Canals and Ports, has presented the 2021 Caminos Foundation Awards at a gala held at the Royal Theater. These awards recognize the relevant contributions of Spanish road, canal and port engineers to economic and social development.
Other winners at the ceremony were: Rafael del Pino Calvo-Sotelo, president of Ferrovial, received the 1st Professional Career Award; the Meca Medina Consortium has received the IV Agustín de Betancourt International Public Works Award for the Meca Medina High-Speed Line; Ineco has been awarded the VIII Rafael Izquierdo Award for Solidarity, for its IngenioSOS 2021 project; Cristina Castillo, co-founder of the Reby company, has received the 1st Ricardo Urgoiti Award for Entrepreneurship.
