FCC Construcción promotes sustainability in the Lima Metro Lines 2 and 4 project (Peru)

To mark World Environment Day, FCC Construcción has sought to highlight the importance of individual contributions to protecting the environment, emphasising the active role played by its teams in making a positive impact.

In this context, the construction project for Lines 2 and 4 of the Lima Metro (Peru) has spearheaded an exemplary initiative by organising numerous activities aimed at fostering a culture of sustainability amongst workers and their communities. Under the hashtag #AhoraPorElClima, these actions have promoted environmental awareness and the direct involvement of all participants, reinforcing FCC Construcción’s commitment to combating climate change and promoting sustainable development.

The initiatives carried out have involved not only FCC Construcción staff, but also the active participation of partner companies, sponsors and subcontractors, highlighting the importance of working together to achieve common environmental goals.

Among the activities carried out, “My Sustainable Home” stands out – an initiative that highlights how sustainability should not be limited to the workplace, but must also extend to homes and society as a whole. Through this initiative, the adoption of responsible habits in everyday life has been encouraged, helping to generate a positive impact beyond the construction site.

Furthermore, the project has continued the “Plant a Tree, Plant Life” initiative, which has been running since 2017 and reflects a long-term commitment to the environment and local communities. As part of this activity, local schoolchildren took part in planting trees, and years later the growth of these trees has been celebrated, symbolising the shared development of people and their natural environment.

Through initiatives such as this, FCC Construcción reaffirms its commitment to integrating sustainability into all its operations, promoting a strong environmental culture that extends beyond individual projects and generates a lasting positive impact on the communities where it operates.
