FCC Construcción restores the main street in the "El Periodista" neighbourhood in Panama

FCC Construcción in conjunction with the Ministry of Public Works has restored the main street in the "El Periodista" neighbourhood, located in the community of Guadalupe in the La Chorrera district, Panama.

FCC Construcción restores the main street in the "El Periodista" neighbourhood in Panama

Calle 1ra, which is found in the El Periodista neighbourhood, is the main road that joins the townships of Guadalupe and el Coco de la Chorrera.

The street, approximately 1,000 metres long, has gone 30 years without undergoing maintenance and was impassable for inhabitants and vehicles that tried to enter the area.

FCC Construcción, as a socially responsible company that permanently implements support programs in communities in La Chorrera and that manages the
El Coco Quarry (located very close to the street), provided all the raw materials necessary for the restoration, including the base coat, tufa, gravel and improved quarry waste. The MOP provided the machinery, labour, oil and fuel necessary to complete the works.
