FCC Construcción takes part in the 21st edition of Corresponsables’ Corresponsables Yearbook

FCC Construcción has taken part in the 21st edition of Corresponsables’ Corresponsables Yearbook, entitled ‘360° Sustainability: leadership, innovation, regulation and responsible communication’. The event brought together more than 410,000 people online and over 30 participating organisations.

FCC Construcción was represented by Milagros Garrote, Head of the Sustainability Department at FCC, who gave a presentation entitled “125 years of growing with sustainability”. She explained how FCC’s history in sustainability has evolved, beginning in the 1900s with the Muelle de España in the Port of Barcelona, through the reconstruction of roads following the Civil War, the construction of numerous dams to maintain water resources throughout Spain, the infrastructure for the Barcelona Olympic Games, and stations such as Atocha, amongst others. ‘At FCC, we are not only sustainable, but we also enable other companies and citizens to be sustainable through water management, waste management, sanitation, and the construction of infrastructure that connects cities and enables development.’

The brand has been highlighted as a responsible and pioneering company, as it was the first Spanish construction firm to obtain AENOR’s quality certificate, as well as the first construction company to publish an environmental statement.
