FCC Construcción UK develops a volunteer project to help a school in South Wales (United Kingdom)

FCC Construcción UK, and specifically the A465 dual carriageway widening project team, has developed a volunteer project to help a school in South Wales. This action was based on the construction of a sensory garden for Greenfield School in Merthyr Tydfil. The volunteers were led by Martin Gallimore, Community Benefits Manager, and included members of the FCC Construction team and subcontractors such as TACP Environmental, Arcadis and Gavin Griffiths Group.

The volunteers, along with pupils and teachers, worked together to create a garden that stimulates all five senses through the use of plants, textures, sounds and other elements.
William Griffiths, one of the TACP Environmental volunteers, explained: "It was a great opportunity to help a school make the most of the green space they had available. It will no doubt be used by all the children and it will be a beautiful green outdoor area".

This is one of several schools in the area that have been helped to create new outdoor learning environments that will bring lasting benefits to the communities in which they operate.
