The Regional Ministry of Health of the Government of Castilla-La Mancha has awarded FCC Construcción the contract to carry out the extension and refurbishment works at the Mancha Centro University General Hospital, located in Alcázar de San Juan (Ciudad Real), for a total of 68 million euros. 

The project involves the comprehensive modernisation of the complex and the construction of a new wing, covering an area of over 24,500 square metres. This project will increase the hospital’s total floor area to over 87,500 m², optimise patient care space, increase capacity to 345 beds and equip the centre with state-of-the-art technology, including advanced diagnostic imaging facilities.

The works, which have a completion period of 35 months, are scheduled to begin in mid-October, following the formalisation of the contract in early September. During the works, the hospital will continue to provide care as normal, minimising the impact on the hospital’s day-to-day operations.

This contract award reinforces FCC Construcción’s position as a strategic partner for public authorities in the development of sustainable, efficient and technologically advanced healthcare infrastructure.
