FCC Construcción wins the tender for the construction of the Córdoba storm tank

The board of directors of the Municipal Water Company of Córdoba (Emacsa) has awarded the construction work of the storm tank in the Balcón del Guadalquivir (Cordoba) to FCC Construcción. The project has an amount of 18.5 million euros and an execution period of 24 months.

The storm tank will solve the problem of flooding that occurs in the southeast area and part of the city of Cordoba when heavy rainfall occurs. This infrastructure will receive rainwater and sanitation, relieving the pressure of the collectors and directing the water, once it has stopped raining, to the La Golondrina wastewater treatment plant, where it will be purified before being discharged into the Guadalquivir.

The storm tank, divided into three vessels, will have a useful storage capacity of 23,170 cubic meters of diluted water and dimensions of 4,386 square meters. In addition, it will be equipped with the necessary instrumentation for the remote control of the equipment, it will have a control building on the surface and ventilation and deodorization systems.

To maintain the architectural value of the current location, the urbanization will be maintained and respected, also including the reconstruction, repair and waterproofing of the currently existing pools.
