FCC Construcción wins the track assembly contract for the La Sagrera High-Speed Station (Catalonia)

FCC Construcción has won the track assembly contract for the La Sagrera High-Speed Station (Catalonia). This project, developed together with Ferrovial Construction, Copisa and Construcciones Rubau, involves the assembly of tracks for commercial service and also those intended for technical treatment of trains, thus being a new step in the development of the future large intermodal station in the north of Barcelona.

The action will involve an investment of 7,403,990 euros and will develop the assembly of a total of 18 standard gauge tracks; Specifically, the two general tracks of the high-speed line will be assembled in their final layout along the structure of the future station and its accesses. In the station itself, along with these two general tracks, another six will be installed, so that La Sagrera will have a total of eight tracks with their respective four platforms, suitable for trains of up to 400 meters in length, to provide commercial services. In addition, next to the entrances to the station, in its northern area, there will be a technical treatment area for high-speed trains, with ten parking lanes, where the trains that finish their journey in The Sagra.

The assembly of the high-speed tracks of La Sagrera will be undertaken in phases, to make it compatible with the construction of the station and the building of the technical treatment area for trains, and guarantee the continuity of the railway service.

As these phases are undertaken, the current provisional layout that surrounds the structure of the future station will be dismantled, a section of more than 1.5 km in length that includes from the entrance of the Sants-La Sagrera tunnel to the entrance of the tunnel of Sant Andreu.
