FCC, the Tres Cantos City Council and the Metropoli Foundation present 'Proyecto Ciudad' to plan and design the Tres Cantos of the future

The mayor of Tres Cantos, FCC and the president of Fundación Metrópoli para la Innovación y Diseño del Territorio, have presented at the foundation's headquarters 'Proyecto Ciudad', a book containing the urban transformation strategies aligned with the SDGs for the planning and design of the Tres Cantos of the future.

Based on the methodology and experience of the 'Proyecto Cities' carried out by Fundación Metrópoli in more than 50 cities around the world, the 'Proyecto Ciudad de Tres Cantos' is the result of three participation forums, which in an exercise of reflection neighbors, institutions and social groups of the town identified the objectives and priorities for the development of the city and in this way Fundación Metropoli could formulate the proposals to the results obtained for its final presentation.

In 'Proyecto Ciudad', in addition to this process of citizen participation, the seven urban proposals proposed in the Hypotheses of Urban Model and Strategic Projects are collected and, among them, those oriented to the urban renewal with an ecological and sustainable structure that thinks about the environment; the coexistence of spaces for a comfortable life and healthy work; the technological innovation for a real 'Smart City', as well as the new forms of mobility for Tres Cantos to become an EcoCity.

Tres Cantos is a reference city in Spain, created as a new city in the style of the New Towns in the environment of London, or the Villes Nouvels in the environment of Paris, a singularity that allows it to become an authentic 'EcoCity' of reference in Europe. A place to live and work, for culture and education, for leisure and contact with nature and also an opportunity for the collaboration of the public sector, the private sector and civil society, with the aim of implementing advanced urban and technological solutions to serve the citizens of Tres Cantos.

Fundación Metropoli develops projects based on urban intelligence and digital technology and has collaborated in the urban transformation of cities such as Singapore, Santiago de Chile, Cartagena de Indias and Mexico City, and, at a national level, in cities such as La Coruña, Málaga, Alicante, Bilbao and Madrid.
