FCC Industrial progresses with the building of the fuel storage tanks in Dublin airport

The scope of the contract includes the construction of three double-wall storage tanks each with a capacity of 5,000 cubic metres and their associated installations.

One of the tanks has already been completed with major weekly progress ensuring that the other two are well under way.

FCC Industrial has also almost completely completed the fuel loading facility for airport tankers as well as the fuel farm control buildings and their auxiliary installations.

Finally, work also continues on the installation of the underground pipes system and aircraft refuelling hydrants on the apron on the air side of Dublin airport. Fire protection installations are also being built and work will soon start on the demolition and removal of the existing industrial installations.

The project has special relevance and importance since all the fuel storage and refuelling industrial installations are being reformed, without which airport operations would be affected, thus maintaining the normal functioning of the Ireland’s main airport.
