These two solar plants, both with a 10 megawatt power output, cover a surface area of 90 hectares and have 129,200 interconnected panels grouped together in sets of 17 and tilted at a 30º angle. The plants have 759 rows of panels that cover a total length of 102 kilometres.

By operating and maintaining these plants FCC Industrial produces clean energy that helps reduce the 13,000 tons of carbon dioxide emitted each year, which corresponds to enough carbon dioxide to absorb a forest covering a surface area of 1,819 hectares, equivalent to around 1,800 medium-sized football pitches.

FCC Industrial - a sustainable company

Sustainable practices in the solar plants have been backed by local communities.  FCC Industrial has granted plant access to local shepherds so that their sheep graze and naturally reduce the amount of grass in the hope of minimising the risk of fire inside and around the plant. This natural solution has been adopted as an alternative to the use of chemical products.

The best practice applied in this town is a clear example of the application of and enforcement of the environmental policy implemented by FCC Industrial on all of its works, which goes beyond current applicable legislation by striving to enhance the quality of life of citizens.
