FCC Industrial finalist in the Roota intra-entrepreneurship programme
FCC Industrial has been a finalist in the first edition of the Roota Intrapreneurship Programme. The project, developed by Rocio Barreto Hernández and Maria del Mar Casas Jiménez, called ‘migration and its benefits for the FCC Group’ has been developed at the Guillena Photovoltaic Plant (Seville), with excellent results.
The aim of this project is to cover the personnel needs in all areas of the FCC Group, detecting talent within the training programmes developed by NGOs, which work with migrants. Through a framework agreement between the FCC Group and the different NGOs, a new channel is added that complements those already developed by the company's Human Resources, thus locating the different profiles for the vacancies demanded by the company, complying with all the standards for attracting corporate talent.
Currently, there is a gap of qualified personnel in the labour market, which is posing a challenge in attracting and retaining talent. With this project, the average time to fill a vacancy has been reduced from 75 days to 15 days. This represents a 70% reduction in the time invested, improving the productivity of the process and the consequent cost savings.
Beyond the positive social effect of integrating different groups, the project solves a problem of talent recruitment. To test the initiative, a pilot project was carried out at FCC Industrial, within the photovoltaic project in Guillena (Seville), with the collaboration of the Spanish Refugee Aid Committee (CEAR). At the end of the test, the previously set objective was achieved, which was to incorporate two trained operators within fifteen days to fill vacancies that had not been filled following the usual processes. The key to the success of the pilot project lies in the coordination and involvement of all parties involved.
The aim of the ROOTA Intra-entrepreneurship Programme is to seek talent within the FCC Group, turning the ideas contributed by the different teams into solutions that improve the environment around us.
