FCC Industrial took part in the seminar organised on 18 October by the multinational IBM on “Reinvention in the construction sector.” The seminar summarised the transformation of the construction sector through various aspects.

Jose Manuel Calvo del Olmo, Madrid City Council Councillor for Sustainable Urban Development, discussed the new urban development in the city of Madrid, Nuevo Norte, as a new construction concept in Spain. He also emphasised the importance of technology in the new era of the construction sector as well as the role of ERPs (Enterprise Resource Planning) in the transformation process. The round table debated various initiatives as shown by the significant change in the current market.

The seminars ended with the presence of Jorge Torrico, BIM (Building Smart) Sub-director of Ineco and secretary of the BIM Committee in the Ministry for Development, who described the value of this method in the context of the construction sector.
