FCC Industrial has won the security and communication contract for the La Llagosta multimodal platform in Barcelona. ADIF awarded the contract to FCC Industrial and Siemens Rail Automation, the amount to 17.4 million euros and has an execution period of 24 months. With these actions, this infrastructure will be equipped with new security and communications facilities.

The La Llagosta platform is part of a logistics node that is considered key for the transport of goods by rail, in addition to articulating part of the development of the Mediterranean Corridor in Catalonia. The comprehensive transformation process that is taking place in La Llagosta, located 15 kilometers north of Barcelona, aims to adapt it to European standards and transform it into a multimodal center through mixed gauge. The project, which will connect with the Barcelona-French border high-speed line, will connect on international gauge. The facility located in the heart of the Mediterranean Corridor will make a decisive contribution to the objectives of this communication axis, providing transport with greater efficiency, a significant reduction in polluting emissions, a reduction in railway operating costs, greater efficiency benefits and reliability for the most competitive railway circulations and travel times.
