FCC rehabilitates the access street to the Ciudad del Niño in Panama
FCC Construcción América with the Ministry of Public Works has rehabilitated the street giving access to the Ciudad del Niño in La Chorrera (Panama). The main objective of the work was to improve the street to facilitate entry to and exit from the place.
The main work included the levelling of more than 4,000 m2 of surface, supply and laying of the base course, hot asphalt course, repositioning of slopes, road markings and drains. The Ciudad del Niño is a non-profit organisation functioning since 1968. It is committed to the promotion, defence and exercising of the rights of children and adolescents in a situation of vulnerability, giving them opportunities for training, development and food as well as encouraging healthy habits and guiding families with systems for educating the children.
For FCC Construcción América, projects such as this show the responsible manner in which the company acts to benefit the progress of Panama, constructing works with a positive impact for the well-being and improvement of the quality of life of the population.
Fortunato Peirotén, administrator of the Ciudad del Niño, stated that these works have given the centre a true change of image and gave thanks for the work carried out, "because this street is a long-lasting dream made reality.”
