Last Monday 9 February, the A-67 motorway (Cantabria-Meseta), returned to normal traffic conditions thanks to help provided by Matinsa in sector P-1 Palencia, which braved the most adverse weather conditions.

The traffic to many towns and villages was cut off during the several days of snow.

To tackle the weather, Matinsa was equipped with nine 6 x 6 snowploughs with snow blades; five 4 x 4 trucks, four of which had wedge ploughs and one with a snow blade; two dynamic milling machines and three off-road vehicles.

The amount of snowfall amounted to more than one metre high (according to data released for Aguilar de Campoo from the meteorological agency AEMET), to which the heavy blizzard must be added. The minimum recorded temperature was -14°, with gusts of wind at around 70 km/h, which greatly hampered the duties of the workers in control of the snowploughs.
