The Minister of Mobility, Transport and Housing of the Extremadura Regional Government has visited the road renovation works of the Ciudad Real-Badajoz Line, Cabeza de Buey-Castuera Section, which has been carried out by FCC Construcción for ADIF.

During the visit, the counselor was accompanied by the Government delegate in Extremadura, the General Director of Conservation and Maintenance of ADIF, the General Director of Mobility and Road Infrastructures of the Junta de Extremadura, and the mayor of Cabeza de Buey-Castuera. The counselor has highlighted the importance of the renewal of the line since it improves travel times between 15 and 20 minutes; in addition to improving competitiveness in freight traffic, by connecting this line with the Mediterranean Corridor.

The renovation works carried out by FCC Construcción have consisted of replacing the track devices and the comprehensive renovation of the track, rail, ballast and sleeper equipment. With this action, in addition to significantly improving comfort, reliability and safety in traffic, it is possible to increase the speed on the section, going from 50 km / h before the start of work to 100 km / h today.
