On 10 October, FCC finished works on the viaduct over the Almonte River in Cáceres, the most iconic structure on the Madrid-Extremadura high-speed train line that Adif Alta Velocidad is working on between Plasencia and Badajoz.

The viaduct's exceptional concrete arch (a 384-metre span) has made it the latest jewel of Spanish engineering and a global benchmark, beating the world span record for that type of high speed bridge.
