The urbanization of the Wanda Metropolitano stadium, executed by FCC Construcción, has been awarded as the best public work by the CICCP of the Madrid Demarcation.
These prestigious awards recognize great projects and the work of the engineers of Caminos de Madrid that with their innovative solutions improve the quality of life of Madrid people.
The prize awarded is circumscribed to a field of action that covers an area of more than 1,200,000 square meters in which different landscapes and environments have been created. The award-winning work is considered an urban opportunity that has allowed the increase of the green space and infrastructure provision of the San Blas-Canillejas District, integrating the newly executed Atlético de Madrid stadium in an accessible environment. The project has allowed an increase in terms of environmental sustainability in the area.
Another category in which FCC Construcción has been awarded has been “Prize for the best performance in terms of engineering or construction projects” awarded to the Mersey River Bridge project. It is the largest bridge built in England in recent decades and the first multivane cable-stayed concrete bridge built in both Europe and America.
Undoubtedly, both awards are an indicator of the magnitude of the projects as well as the excellence of the company in their execution.
