Pablo Colio, CEO of FCC, has participated in the “annual infrastructure meeting”, organized by Deloitte, on November 4 in Madrid.

The corporate event of the consulting and auditing company convened more than 150 executives, partners and consultants from Deloitte, who discussed and analyzed the infrastructure sector in the international market.

According to Oxford Economics, it is estimated that investment in infrastructure in Europe will be $ 7 billion between 2016 and 2040. Europe invested 2.2 percent of GDP in infrastructure between 2007 and 2015. Europe would need to keep spending at a similar rate of GDP between 2016 and 2040, or slightly increase it to 2.6 percent of GDP to meet the investment need forecast.

According to the report on infrastructure and construction perspectives prepared by CEOE, the companies in the sector have internationalization and digital transformation in the spotlight to continue growing and improving their processes and efficiency. Housing and roads is noted as the two business priorities. Outside of Spain they look mostly at Latin America and the United States. The two main objectives are the efficiency in the execution and improvement of processes, and the control and planning of the resources.

FCC was invited to participate in the “current agenda of CEOs” panel, directed by Javier Parada, responsible partner for infrastructure at Deloitte. In it, we analyzed the key points that should appear on the agenda of a CEO, what are the requirements to be met to adopt the continuous changes in the infrastructure market and thus respond to the different types of shareholders and stakeholders of the companies.
