SMART CONSTRUCTION MANAGER A new intelligent and autonomous system for the control and management of the work

The SMART CONSTRUCTION MANAGER project continues with the developments aimed at designing and developing a new system that allows the development of a new intelligent and autonomous model for the control and management of projects. The SMART CONSTRUCTION MANAGER project, led by BECSA, has the participation of large leading companies in the construction sector such as FCC CONSTRUCCIÓN, and TPF INGENIERÍA, leading companies in the materials manufacturing sector, such as SAINT-GOBAIN PLACO, and leading companies in the manufacturing of software and security, such as LIBELIUM, CYPE and SIGNE, it also has the collaboration of two technological centers CETIM Technological Center and ITAINNOVA and the UNIVERSITY OF ALICANTE.

The idea of the project had its origin in a PTEC (Construction Technology Platform) working group, thus arising from the need of the construction sector to increase its efficiency, control and profitability, providing a solution to the lack that currently exists. of a global platform that communicates quickly and reliably to the different elements of the value chain: construction companies, works and suppliers.

The project has been approved and financed by the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) through the CIEN Strategic Program and its main objective is to improve the control of construction management and the supply chain of materials by applying to the construction sector. innovative digitalization technologies. To achieve these objectives, a consortium of companies with experience in R&D&i and technology development has been formed, which will contribute the experience and knowledge acquired throughout their activity, as well as their capabilities for exploiting results through various ways.

In this way, during the project execution period, research will be carried out on various technologies that allow the main management processes of a project to be digitalized and automated, integrating them into a collaborative tool in which the entities involved can share reliable and confident about the progress made and the materials used, promoting transparency.

To address both the research and developments considered in the Smart Construction Manager project, the following six activities have been designed, each led by a project partner.

A few weeks ago, an in-person meeting was held at the SIMETRIA building, BECSA's main headquarters in Castellón, where representatives from all the companies in the consortium attended, as well as the technology centers and the collaborating university. In it, the general status of the project was shared, as well as all the progress and work carried out during the last months. Likewise, taking advantage of the presence of all the members of the consortium, a dynamic work day took place in which the participating companies managed to share their different points of view, achieving great progress regarding the project activities. In this way, the lines and next steps to follow were defined, which directed the work to be carried out during the coming months.
