The A465 GIS Portal project is a finalist in the Construction Excellence in Wales 2024 Awards

The A465 GIS Portal developed by the A465 project team has been shortlisted for the Construction Excellence Awards in Wales 2024 in the Digital Collaboration Award category.

The portal is a valuable tool that saves time and increases productivity. The A465 GIS Portal has been developed and is managed by Juan Ramón Mena, BIM Manager, Nidhin Murali, BIM Coordinator and Ashley Rose, BIM Data Analyst. The team has worked closely with our designers, environmental consultants and supply chain to ensure it is fully compatible with their current systems, allowing them to work more efficiently with known methods.

The project developed under the PPP model consists of the expansion of the A465 motorway, in sections 5 and 6, which have a length of 17.3 kilometers and are located between the towns of Dowlais Top, Merthyr Tydfil and Hirwaun. Currently, these sections of the highway have a single carriageway and heavy traffic.

The project, which will complete the unfolding of the A465 motorway, is important for improving mobility and connectivity in Wales, as well as for the reactivation of the local economy.
