The project team for the new A465 Heads of the Valleys dual carriageway between Hirwaun and Dowlais in South Wales have been raising funds for local mental health charity Signposted Cymru.

To help raise as much money as possible, team members volunteered to take part in the Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge, where they had to summit the three most iconic mountains in Wales, Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen And Fan, in less than 24 hours.

They started the challenge on Friday, August 18, 2023 and within 19 hours they successfully completed the challenge. As a result, more than £18,000 (€21,000) has been raised for the charity. Thanks to this donation collected, more than 530 hours of mental health counseling services will be made possible.
