The project executed by FCC Construcción and Convensa, a high-speed tunnel between the Puerta de Atocha and Chamartín-Clara Campoamor stations, was awarded "Best Public Service Performance" at the 15th edition of the Civil Engineers Demarcation awards, of Madrid.

 These awards are a recognition of road, canal and port engineers, whose work is decisive in economic and social development, and of the projects that modernize and make the city of Madrid and its community more sustainable. This is the high-speed communication axis that, crossing the center of the city in a 9-kilometre section, will connect the southern and eastern lines with the north and northwest lines in international width.
