The FCC Construcción North Runway project at Dublin International Airport (Ireland) has won the award Engineering Endeavor 2022 delivered by Engineers Ireland. North Runway is the first international runway built in Ireland in over 30 years. It is one of the best engineering projects developed in Ireland and valued and awarded by Engineers Ireland.

The North Runway project, considered one of the largest infrastructure projects in Ireland, involved the construction of more than 340,000 square meters of runway and taxiways, 6 km of internal airport access roads, 425 km of electrical cable and 2,500 runway and taxiway lights.

The North Runway will play an important role in Dublin's growing position as a hub for travel between Europe and North America, with the potential to increase connectivity in all regions. According to the client DAA, the runway will create 31,200 new jobs and €2.2 billion in additional economic activity.
