The FCC Group's construction division joins the United Nations World Environment Day
The FCC Group's construction division has joined the United Nations World Environment Day. A global movement that inspires positive change, promoting action for the environment and the potential of governments, businesses and citizens to create a more sustainable world. The event was created in 1973 and has since been led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
The FCC Group's construction division is joining the campaign to combat plastic pollution, which is spreading to every corner of the planet — even into the human body, in the form of microplastics. We must act collectively to address this global challenge. Plastic pollution exacerbates the lethal effects of the triple planetary crisis: the climate change crisis, the crisis of nature, land and biodiversity loss, and the pollution and waste crisis. Globally, an estimated 11 million tonnes of plastic waste leaks into aquatic ecosystems every year, while microplastics accumulate in the soil from sewage and landfills due to the use of plastics in agricultural products. The annual social and environmental cost of plastic pollution ranges from 300 billion to 600 billion US dollars.
We invite you to join the #NoPlasticPollution movement — because by working together we can build a healthier future.
