The Parador de San Marcos (León), built by FCC Construcción, is recognized as the "best hotel in Europe 2021" in the International Hotel & Property Awards, awarded by the prestigious British interior design magazine 'Design et al', one of the most relevant awards in the sector at an international level.

The planned action involved the comprehensive reform of the Parador, with actions in the cloister, in the service and residential area. The most recently constructed building was demolished to build a new space with 180 rooms and 12 convention rooms. A new restaurant, a spa and a swimming pool were built. In the noble area of the Parador, 40 unique rooms were fitted out and the south patio was restored.

This is the first comprehensive rehabilitation of the Parador since its opening in 1965.

FCC's infrastructures area has developed important projects for the rehabilitation of unique buildings. The rehabilitation and comprehensive expansion of the National Court in Madrid, the rehabilitation of the Casón del Buen Retiro, the Torre Arias palace, the Casa de la Panaderia in the Plaza Mayor in Madrid and the comprehensive rehabilitation of the Palacio de Cibeles, the new headquarters of the Madrid City Hall, one of the most emblematic buildings in Madrid.
