The project of FCC Construcción, renovation and expansion of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Zaragoza, has won the “Best Public Initiative” award within the III Aragón Building Gala.

The comprehensive renovation of the original Faculty building and its expansion through the construction of a new annex building, which would comply with an effective distribution to current needs, as well as the urbanization works on the plot; which, together with the construction criteria, has allowed the development of the project with the BIM methodology.

In addition, it is the first building in Aragon with the BREEAM Excellent environmental certificate. It has an A energy rating with very low energy demand and emissions indicators that allow it to be classified as Almost Zero Energy (EECN).

The built complex has five perfectly interconnected blocks. The so-called block A is intended for teaching and houses more than 40 classroom and seminar spaces of all sizes. In addition, in this block the deanery, administration spaces and an area that promotes health and promotes interpersonal relationships will be installed.

Block B is the newly built building and will have teaching offices, a study room and an exhibition area.

Block C contains offices and laboratories. Block D is the Aula Magna and two large multi-purpose rooms and, finally, block E houses offices and laboratories.

More than 2,500 students, 500 teachers and 70 administration people will attend this building.
