FCC Construccion publishes a new video that includes the construction process of the Wanda Metropolitan Stadium. The new headquarters of Atlético Madrid occupies a total area of 88,150 square meters and has a capacity to house more than 68,000 fans, distributed in general capacity and VIP area.

In addition, it has more than 1,000 parking spaces for fans inside the stadium and 3,000 exterior outdoor parking spaces. The distribution of the new grandstands allows the fans and / or spectators to be close to the field. Special mention requires the roof of the stadium, consisting of a steel structure of about 6,336 tons, tensioned with radial cables and joined with a membrane that occupies an area of 83,053 square meters. The membrane consists of 720 panels of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) and has a weight of 92 tons. The deck covers the bleachers, which means that 96% of the locations are protected from rain. This element constitutes a singular and differentiating element, and places the Metropolitan Wanda among the most important European sports facilities, designed in recent years.

The new stadium is the first in the world to have fully LED technology, thus transforming the skyline of the city of Madrid. The Wanda Metropolitano has been awarded as "Best Public Work 2017" by the Demarcation of Madrid of the College of Civil Engineers Channels and Ports. It will host the final of the Copa del Rey 2018 and the final of the 2019 Champions League.
