Alicia Alcocer Koplowitz appointed Vice-Chairman of Cementos Portland Valderrivas
On 28 February, the Board of Directors of Cementos Portland Valderrivas appointed José Luis Sáenz de Miera as Chairman and CEO and Alicia Alcocer Koplowitz as Vice-Chairman.
Ms Alcocer Koplowitz has law degree, and previously worked as a lawyer on the trading desk and in the risk department at Banco Zaragozano, where she was also a member of the Board of Directors.
She joined FCC's financial department in 1996, and since that time has performed a range of functions. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors and of the Executive, Strategy, and Audit and Control Committees.
Ms Alcocer Koplowitz is actively involved in Spain's National Abandoned Animal Welfare Association (ANAA).
Mr Sáenz de Miera was formerly head of Mexican cement group CEMEX in Southern Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia and Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of CEMEX Spain. He replaces Juan Béjar, who was named Vice-Chairman and CEO of FCC Group on 31 January and stepped down from his position at Cementos Portland Valderrivas. The proposal to re-appoint Juan Béjar as a director of the company will be submitted to the next Shareholders' Meeting.
The two appointments were made following a favourable report from the Appointments, Remuneration and Corporate Governance Committee.
