Carlos Barón, General Manager of Divestments and Land Management
Carlos Barón Thaidigsmann, to date General Manager of Versia and Divestments, has been appointed General Manager of Divestments and Land Management. Reporting directly to the General Manager of Finance, Carlos Barón will now also be responsible for managing real estate assets for the entire Group, most of which were the responsibility of FCC Construcción's Real Estate division, although some are also included on the balance sheets of the Environmental Services and Water divisions
The Board of Directors' Appointments and Remuneration Committee assessed Mr Barón's professional track-record, in particular his experience in the divestment process to reduce debt, which is more than 70% complete.
He graduated Summa Cum Laude in law and economics from the University of Oviedo, his home town, and commenced his career in the tax advisory department at Arthur Andersen. He was later Financial Director at Alas Publicidad group, which belongs to multinational Saatchi & Saatchi, and was also General Manager of the investment firm Aprocar.
He joined FCC Group in 1991, where he has held several posts in the area of municipal services but which are unrelated to the company's environmental activities. For the last few years, he has been General Manager of Versia, a group of companies, most of which are slated for divestment, a process he has been leading since March 2013.
