Carlos M. Jarque approves a new Organizational Structure for FCC Aqualia

Carlos M. Jarque, CEO of FCC, has approved a new organizational structure for FCC Aqualia by a proposal from the Area’s General Manager, Félix Parra. The new organization means the creation of the Direction for Spain, which will be headed by Santiago Lafuente Pérez-Lucas, whom will report directly to Parra. Moreover, the Appointments & Remuneration Committee (CNR) also approved the substitution of Lafuente at the head of the Zone I Regional Management (Central and Northern Spain) by Juan Carlos Rey Fraile.

According to Carlos M. Jarque and Félix Parra, this new organization aims to “enhance the activity in Spain with a better coordination between the different Areas and Delegations, simplify the decision making, improve the interaction with customers and partners and optimize and maximize the resources within the structure of FCC Aqualia”. “Leverage the existing talent and promote the career development of people in our company throughout internal promotions” is the philosophy of this new stage in the Water Division, according to the Chief Executive of the Citizen Services Group.

The organizational structure of FCC Aqualia keeps the International Direction Department (headed by Luis de Lope) whom will report as well directly to Félix Parra. In the words of Jarque, “we aim to consolidate FCC Aqualia’s position in the national and international markets in which we operate and to promote the development of new ones”. The new organization involves a more efficient cost structure aligned with the global goals of the Group.

The new Managing Director for Spain of FCC Aqualia, Santiago Lafuente Pérez-Lucas, is a Civil Engineer, graduated from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. He joined FCC 25 years ago (in September 1990) and since then he has held various positions of responsibility always related to the domestic water sector market. Since 2013, he has currently been Regional Manager of Zone 1.  Lafuente will report directly to the General Manager of FCC Aqualia, Félix Parra.

Lafuente's replacement as Director of Zone I, Juan Carlos Rey Fraile, is a Civil Engineer by the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid specialized in Hydraulics and Energy and a Public Works Engineer from this university of Madrid. He joined FCC Aqualia in 1993 and has held various positions of responsibility in both functional and production areas. He reaches this new position from the Delegation of Castilla and León Direction.
