FCC’s team in Wigan (UK) is helping the public at their household waste recycling centres

As well as caring for the safety of people, workers in the household waste recycling centres in Kirkless, Slag Lane and Chanters (United Kingdom) also ensure that all the material arriving at the facilities is recycled properly.

In order to get this, FCC Environment, which manages the recycling facilities across the Borough of Wigan, is asking residents to work with them to help increase the recycling rate in the district. Residents are being encouraged to sort materials at home so that when they reach the centres they are easier to unload and place into the appropriate containers quickly and safely.

The articles arriving at the centres range from large and small electrical devices to clothing and textiles, broken furniture, mattresses, used oil, gardening waste and batteries.

Recycling more and better will help the Borough of Wigan and FCC Environment to reach their recycling targets, as well as playing an important part in caring for the environment.
