Julio Rodríguez Sesmero, head of contracts for FCC Ámbito in the town of Zierbena, and Robero Rivero Eguía, coordinator of Prevention of Risks at Work, Quality and the Environment for the north local office, were there to collect the bronze diploma honouring the five years of hard work and commitment to the European Union Eco-Management and Audit Scheme.

Coinciding with the 20th Anniversary of the EMAS Environmental Certification, the ceremony was organised by the Basque Government in order to honour the effort and commitment of 28 companies that have recently joined the EMAS register for the Basque Country.

The Community Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) is a voluntary tool within the European community that helps companies and organisations improve the efficiency of their resource management, minimise risks and demonstrate commendable behaviour through their commitment to respect and protect the environment.
