Panama's new Electoral Board headquarters, built by FCC, was inaugurated on Wednesday, 6 November, by Ricardo Martinelli Berrocal, President of Panama, and by Electoral Board judges Erasmo Pinilla, Eduardo Valdez Escoffery and Heriberto Araúz Sánchez.
Other attendees included Victor Alberola, Chairman of FCC Construction in Central America; Aurelio Callejo, Vice-Chairman of FCC Construction in Central America; and Juan Antonio del Saz, Head of Building at FCC, among other company executives. Guests were able to appreciate the fine details of the Neoclassical-style building whose functional design and superb finish make it one of the finest public buildings in Panama.
The new Electoral Board headquarters, comprising three connected buildings in the form of the letter "H", have five floors with offices, a lecture hall, a conference room, a museum, and a library, as well as a subbasement for parking and other services.
The project was built over 3.184 hectares and cost 30 million dollars. The contract included the design and construction of the buildings, with their sanitation, electrification, drinking water and rain water systems connected to public utility networks.
The project is environmentally-friendly as it collects rainwater for use in the rest rooms.
The Electoral Board is committed to guaranteeing respect for liberty, transparency and efficacy in voting by citizens.
