As a first step towards the remodelling of the facility´s equipment, last Thursday, 13 July, work began on dismantling the machinery to be replaced. Work will continue over the next two months, with the new facility expected to come online in mid-September.

With this remodelling, El Pont de Vilomara's treatment plant for used refrigerators and other out-of-use refrigeration equipment will incorporate the latest technology available on the market. This will guarantee the highest European standards, while increasing its production capacity by more than 60%.

FCC Ámbito has several facilities for the treatment of white, brown and grey line electric and electronic waste, fluorescent tubes and lamps, diverse equipment and batteries and heaters. Thanks to these facilities, FCC Ámbito manages directly or through its subsidiaries 40,000 t/m² per year of WEEE, recovering and returning to the production processes the resources that they contain.
