FCC and the Alcobendas (Madrid) city government held the 2nd Road Safety Event for Children as part of the cooperation agreement signed between the two entities in 2013 to promote actions that encourage road safety and education, both inside and outside the company.
FCC employees and their families participated in the event, where they learned about road safety and traffic accident prevention. Activities included a class for children where they learned about signage, rules for cyclists, and proper behaviour as road users. The kids then put this information into practice while driving karts under the watchful eye of Alcobendas local police, who manage the Road Safety Park.
Adults also learned about road safety and safe driving from Roberto Ramos, a specialist with FESVIAL, the Spanish Foundation for Road Safety.
Employees and their family members enjoyed their day together, and children received a Road Safety card at the event, which concluded with lunch provided by Domino's Pizza.
This event, which focused on learning while having fun, raised awareness among adults and children about the importance of road safety.
The initiative, which was well attended, is among the activities FCC is organizing in line with its commitment to road safety: promoting road education as a basic principle for reducing traffic accidents.
