FCC Aqualia publishes its 9th Report on Corporate Social Responsibility
FCC Aqualia has published the ninth issue of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report which summarises, in a very visual way, the main economic, social and environmental milestones reached by the Company throughout 2014 and reflects the key aspects of the company's relationship with its stakeholders: employees, citizens, media and public administrations, amongst others.
The Company's strong commitment to R&D&I can be seen in all of its most noteworthy actions. In 2014, more than 3.2 million euros were invested in this area. FCC Aqualia has worked with 22 national and 7 international centres to develop 17 projects with 8 patents pending which require dedication and hard work from very specialised staff.
The report reflects the committed management model that FCC Aqualia implements in Spain, and which is also applicable for the services it manages throughout the world. 19.3% of professionals working in the FCC Aqualia subsidiary work outside of Spain, as protagonists in the company's growing international expansion, which was particularly significant in 2014 in the EU Latin America and the Middle East. It is currently present in a total of 23 countries. 20.9% of the company's net revenues come from activity abroad.
FCC Aqualia maintains and has strengthened its commitment to the 7,639 professionals that make up its workforce, by promoting initiatives to improve their daily work. The success of the company's activity is a result of its professionalism and quality of service. The reinforcement regarding health and safety matters at work and equality policies is of particular note, which has led to FCC Aqualia gaining an extension on its Equality Accolade from the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality until 2016.
All of these activities result in a more comprehensive service for the citizen, which is looked after by the FCC subsidiary specialised in comprehensive water management so that it is accessible, transparent and fluid.
For the second consecutive year, the Report follows the GRI G4 guidelines under the option Comprehensive and has been checked by an independent external body (AENOR). The Report is available in Spanish, English and Portuguese, as well as in digital version for the iPad and other devices. It can be accessed from the website or using Aqualia ONE.
