FCC attends an informative meeting with the Mayor of Valladolid
FCC this morning attended an informative meeting with the Mayor of Valladolid and the new Federal spokesperson of the PSOE, Óscar Puente, organised by Executive Forum España in Madrid. The Mayor, who was introduced by Manuel Escudero, the PSOE head of Economy and Employment and was accompanied by members of his government and other political authorities, gave a speech on local government and the new social democracy and gave the business executives a message of opportunities.
Jesús Medina, Director of FCC Medio Ambiente Area III and Alfredo Sanchidrián, head of the Valladolid-Salamanca area representing FCC Group, took part in the meeting.
During his speech, Oscar Puente spoke of national and municipal politics, in particular what must be done to create more sustainable cities as well as opening them up to public participation. He emphasised the importance of balanced public – private collaboration with the necessary municipal control and stressed that this is the best way for local councils to face investments and benefit from the innovation and research undertaken by companies.
The speech by Óscar Puente was heard by a large number of attendees including leading political and social representatives and received much attention in the media.
