With goal of strengthening and promoting among its executives the commitment to build a shared culture and lay the foundations for a common framework for action, FCC held its Annual Executive Convention at the Hotel Meliá Castilla in Madrid on 27 April under the slogan "Committed as a group".

Then, FCC Chairman and CEO, Baldomero Falcons, analysed the strategies and lines of action of the company's business and corporate units with a view to making commitments to overcome the crisis; the Group's strong position, favoured by diversification, both geographical and sectoral; the company's current leading position in all its business areas; its human capital; and FCC's financial strength and stable shareholder structure.
There followed a series of presentations of the strategies, goals and commitments of each of FCC Group's business areas, in the following order: José Mayor, Chairman of FCC Construction; José Luis de la Torre, Chairman of FCC Services; Eduardo González, General Manager of FCC Energy; Dieter Kiefer, Chairman and CEO of Cementos Portland Valderrivas; Juan Béjar, Chairman of Globalvía, and Ignacio Bayón, Chairman of Realia.
Speakers in the second half of the convention were Felipe García, General Secretary of FCC; Víctor Pastor, CFO; Francisco Martín, General Manager of Human Resources, and Antonio Gómez Ciria, General Manager of Administration and IT, who participated in a roundtable discussion entitled: "Corporate strategies". The debate, which was moderated by José Manuel Velasco, General Manager of Communication and Corporate Responsibility, involved reflecting on and sharing the objectives and priorities of these corporate units.
Baldomero Falcones gave the closing address, in which he reiterated the key messages from the convention:
-
We are in a situation of crisis that is impacting our business, but the worst is over.
-
Infrastructure, municipal services and energy are three areas of rapid growth beyond the crisis.
-
We have a plan to emerge stronger and seize these opportunities.
-
We have the team and the know-how to achieve this.
-
We know how to compete internationally.
-
We must take advantage of this opportunity.
He concluded by thanking the attendees for participation and for their commitment to the company.
The event was attended by over 300 people, including members of FCC's corporate departments and representatives of all the Group's business areas and subsidiaries.
