FCC contributes to labour insertion of people with disabilities

The agreement, promoted by FCC's core shareholder, Esther Koplowitz, is among the actions undertaken by ONCE Foundation as part of the "Por Talento" Programme, which seeks to train and employ people with disabilities and is co-financed by the European Social Fund.

Under the heading of "Exemplary behaviour", FCC's 2012-2014 3rd Corporate Social Responsibility Master Plan includes an action programme to promote social inclusion of special needs groups. The Inserta programme detects professional opportunities within the Group and creates the necessary conditions to enable persons with disabilities to integrate into the work environment, while also supporting their social integration.

FCC identifies and proposes the job posts to be covered within its different areas and businesses; this requires significant internal communication and awareness raising among all employees involved in production, recruitment and hiring processes. In a subsequent phase, FSC Inserta pre-selects candidates and provides them with the necessary training to fit the posts available at FCC.

As part of the agreement, FCC also encourages indirect hiring of people with disabilities by acquiring goods and services from sheltered workshops under the aegis of the ONCE and its Foundation.

Not only are people with disabilities entitled to access, in conditions of equality, to the goods and services that companies make available to the public; they are also a major stakeholder group that no leading company of FCC's calibre should ignore.
