FCC joins the European Road Safety Charter
The certificate ceremony was held at Brussels and attended by Francisco Martin Monteagudo, FCC HR General Manager, and Juan Carlos Sáez de Rus, Health & Safety Manager.
The European Road Safety Charter wishes to afford all stakeholders (institutions, associations and companies) the opportunity to share ideas and practices across Europe, so that all stakeholders can learn from each other and gain inspiration as to how the road situation in Europe can be improved. In this sense, FCC’s Group presented to the Commission its commitment, the Road Safety Strategic Plan 2010-2015, responding to a social and labour problem which are road accidents and the challenge of implementing a road safety culture in the organization, through a fully active position in the fight against accidents.
This plan was praise by the Head of the Road Safety Unit of the European Commission on Transport, Isabelle Kardacz, who considered it a very complete work, such its deployment and development is organized through four specific action plans, Risk Prevention Road Safety Plan, Health Road Traffic Plan, Education Road Traffic Plan, which also provides educational practices aimed at staff with disabilities, and the Mobility Road Traffic Plan.
The Road Safety Strategic Plan is a progressive international project, with which Citizens Services Group has set a goal of reaching the more than 92,000 employees located worldwide and through a widespread coverage it is estimated to reach a direct impact on more than 200,000 people (customers, suppliers and home environment workers). Also have a significant impact on FCC’s vehicle fleet with more than 21,500.
