FCC Medio Ambiente, an example of good practice in "Psychosocial Risk Management at Work"
The environmental services subsidiary of the FCC Group took part in the European Health and Safety Week as a company setting an example for good practice regarding "Psychosocial Risk Management at Work".
FCC Medio Ambiente took part in this event through the Conference organised by the National Institute for Health and Safety at Work, "How to approach psychosocial risk prevention: awareness, participation and good practices".
Within this framework, different companies presented their programmes and experiences of good practice which has enabled them to successfully deal with this issue and may serve as an example for other companies.
The importance of properly managing psychosocial risk lies in preventing the potential negative effects this may have on the employee and their working environment, as well as on the company itself, the negative effects of which could result in poor overall performance for the company, an increase in absenteeism and a higher rate of accidents and injuries.
Any sick leave taken in relation to this issue tends to be for longer than that taken due to other reasons. Therefore, the costs that both the company and society must bear are enormous.
Complying with their legal obligations, FCC Medio Ambiente uses a plan to prevent and reduce psychosocial risks and create a psychosocially healthy work environment. All of this leads to successful company management, health maintenance and employee motivation.
